Sumit Dahiya

Sumit Dahiya is an accomplished Solution Architect (Vice President) at Barclays Americas, with over 18 years of experience in technology leadership, architecture, and visionary solutions. He has played a pivotal role in transforming Barclays by implementing a single Group-wide Logical Access/IAM/PAM framework, recognized as industry-leading by notable financial institutions. His expertise extends to leveraging open-source technologies across enterprises.

Sumit's extensive career spans multiple industries, including Finance, Retail, and Telecom, where he has built and operated large-scale business solutions. His problem-solving skills, tireless work ethics, and exceptional technical and business acumen are highly regarded and transferable across platforms and industries.

In his current role, Sumit leads a globally distributed IAM Engineering & Support team of approximately 30 colleagues across APAC, UK, and the US. His team is responsible for the design, development, and support of IAM toolsets, processes, controls, and change projects across the Barclays Group. Sumit also oversees the technical and operational governance of LAM controls owned and operated by IAM.

Over the past three years, Sumit has spearheaded a significant transformation at Barclays, implementing a modular framework based on microservices architecture and open-source technologies. This fully cloud-enabled platform is the first enterprise-scale implementation of microservices at Barclays, providing an “IAM as a Service” offering across the bank.

Core Responsibilities:

Strategy: Defining and evolving the IAM services and product roadmap to maintain Barclays' control environment amidst a changing security landscape.Architecture: Designing, maintaining, and improving IAM technology architecture to ensure resilience, scalability, and modern security controls.Product Development: Building a comprehensive IAM products suite with complex integrations and an optimized multi-terabyte data layer for security operations.Key Sub-Functions:

Design & Architecture: Leading the definition of architecture roadmaps and POCs using modern technologies such as Cloud, Microservices, Graph Engines, Rules Engines, BPM, Analytics, Data Virtualization, and High Resiliency design.Core Engineering: Overseeing product development and integrations with enterprise systems like AD, SAP, CMDB, Directories, and Infrastructure.Data Feeds & Operations: Managing the ingestion and operational support of multi-terabytes of daily data across thousands of application and infrastructure feeds.User Interface (UI/UX): Designing, testing, and implementing user experiences for all IAM products.L2 & L3 Support: Providing 24x7 technology and operations support across all IAM products and data flows.
